Wade's got the piff.

Location: Chipotle down by the harbor in Baltimore , MD.
People: Wade , Muff and Myself.
To sum up this man by the name of Wade you could simply say one word ; knowledge. Besides being a fellow that is up to date on the current trends , he doesn't have to flow with it like some of the crowd. He has his own style and thoughts which definitely shine through hearing about soon to be projects and just plain ol' conversing. Get ready because he's on the come up.

Full name? Or nickname , which do you prefer to go by?

Ummm , nickname. (eric) Why? (eric) Because that's all they need to know.
And what is that nickname?
Actually ... they can know my name , its Wade. A.K.A. Brad Piff , or Sneakermane from niketalk.
Now that "piff" , is that a reference to marijuana?
Not necessarily , you're not the first to ask. It's just a reference to something hot , something smoking. If that's what you do , then more power to you.
Which area do you reside in , do you like it?
Baltimore , MD. Everyday , all day.
Whats your "profession"?
Uhhh.... Oh! Internet personality.....
(laughter)
So you shape this young whipper-snappers into shape?
If that's what you want to call it. Inspire them to do something different with their lives.
Whats the next "hip thing" that's going to occur?
The next hip thing? Right now , episode 5 of Kickin' it in the city. Be aware , and be there. We are still finalizing the next guest , It's going to be real nice. For the people that don't know what kickin' it in the city is , you need a late pass.
Oh man , oh man. So wasn't I supposed to be a guest?
:laughs: Anytime , just holler at me or Arcieri... (eric) I'm just trying to be like some of those "other" people that we hear of in that situation.... (eric)
Ok , so break down K.I.T.C. :
Alright , Kickin' in the city is.......really just my personal look on this , this sneaker scene. I give insight. I started it with my homey Harm City Hustler. (eric/wade) Shout out to Harm City Hustler. (eric/wade) We were out and about , kicking it.....arguing about other sneakers and what not. We figured we would do an Internet show talking about the shoes , whats hot , whats not as well as showcasing smaller brands. We just ran it about a year and now I'm currently doing it with Arcieri Keness. Same dope flavor , guest cats with the same love and passion. Nothing really serious , just fun. At the end of the day , its all about fun. Keeping the shit nice and humorous.
So we've connected a bunch of times yet this is one of the first times we've been able to chat on the intellectual level. Whats something you want to get off your mind about the world , or people around you.
Umm. Being of how im really deep into this sneaker scene , my pet peeve is these so-called "sneakerheads". It's something real recent and new.... My opinion , its funny how everyone claims to be one right now. In no way shape or form do I consider myself a "sneakerhead". Im just somebody that loves sneakers. Two different things. Why i say this? Because "sneakerhead" was born in 1999 with the retro jordan 4's black and cement. Thats when this big obsession with old sneakers was created , people called "sneakerheads" say "I love these old joints" but dont even wear them. Im from the era of always buying new and slick shit. You know this to be true.... In 95' if you came out with sneakers from 88' , I'd tell you to take that shit off. It's not even a love for the shoe anymore , it's trying to be cool. Right now you will see a girl with jordans on who has never seen Mike play and doesnt even know where he's coming from. I dont label myself as anything , I've just always liked shoes. I'm a little older and thats my thing , not even about just nike......other things. You wear what you like. They just gravitate towards nikes.
BEAST! All time favorite song and why?
All time favorite song....Hmmmm. Thats a good one, hold up. I know what it is , you gonna think im crazy. Its the biggest hit from this 80's group called The System and it's called "Dont distrub this groove". (eric) Why that one? (eric) 'Cause its just a catchy tune and right now its just like 20 yrs old , but it can be bumped like a brand new song. The great music of the 80's. The music was timeless , not even a black or white thing because two of the members were each. It was a pop song , but bumped by R & B stations.....It had no genere. Crossover.
: looks into iphone for song :
Plays song + sings.
Catchy lyrics too.... hang that sign up on the door..... dont distrub the groove...
: laughs : (eric) I'm going to use that sometime for myself and see how it works... (eric) What the song? (eric) Yes. (eric) :laughs : I'm trying to tell you , any chick , black white or whatever....over 30... It's bonus points.
HANG THE SIGN UP!
: laughs :
What describes your style?
Timeless. I lke to wear stuff that ... Because of the economy , you want to buy something that you can still wear 5 years from now. I'm not into wearing stuff that is in and out in like a year. Levis , Gap , nothing but vans and converse right now. If it's a Nike its gotta because of the player that I knew and loved...Penny Haradway......Andre Aggasi..
We IN A RECESSION!
: MUFF CHIMES IN :
(muff) I'm a shit shaper , people mimic me..... (muff)
(wade/eric) WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. (wade/eric)
SHIT SHAPER.......
But ima chime in to , because shes good at putting together nice things with normal articles , making hoodies and putting her patton on it and shapes it.
Most meaningful song in your opinion and why?
Most meaningful song....U2 "With or without you" (muff) Why?!?! (muff) Because it defines the state of a man and woman..nothing is easy...Cant live with em , cant live without em... (eric) Ummmhmmmmm. Preach. I agree. (eric) Classic lyrics.
Whats the most recent CD or Mixtape that has come out recently that you absolutely love?
Uhhh...Its two. Recent purchases? I mean...I dont buy no recent shit.
Recently , the cd that ive ben pumping is from 07'
(eric) The artist you are pumping right now? (eric)
Kenna "Make sure you see my face". Ever since my boy Adrian let me hold it , ive been playing it every since. The music is just so different compared to whats played in the mainstream. I'm mad that artists like kenna arent allowed the proper shine , more then "young" this "lil" that. (eric) You said two..... (eric)
Oh and , I'm a finnicky bastard liking shit that people have never heard of... well I bump the shit out of N.E.R.D "Seeing Sounds".
They need to create some radio format for artists like Kenna and N.E.R.D. becauses theres no format for their music , thats the type of shit I want to hear. They need a non-maintstream format.
What "inspires" you?
Life. Life... Life and being alive.
Sometimes you just wake up and just the air hitting you influences what you want to do with yourself... Nobody influences me to do anything , it just comes to me. Actually what does influence alot of my decisions is age , you dont bullshit. Not really putting out hypebeasts again , but it is what it is.
Favorite place in the world?
Favorite place?
Ummm... It's actually NYC. But I'm just going by when I used to visit often....
Theres always something to do. Baltimore is my home.... But NY , theres always something to do.
I hate them damn yankees though....to hell with them yankees im an orioles fan...
I got mad peoples up there. We both are heading up soon , yeah?
You already know...
Top 5 Dead or Alive.(Music-Wise)
Ummm.
I just had my 5 the other a day...
5. Nerd (the group)
4. Andre' 3000 w/ special shout out to Big Boi.
3. Kayne West
2. Nas
1. Bob Marley
(muff) Why because you are jamican? (muff)
You already know.
Bob first and foremost....

Favorite brand? And why.

Vans , because they are classic , timeless , and aforable.
You dont have to spend a whole paycheck in order to buy a pair , unlike nike. Also I respect what the brand Stussy has done regarding longevity. They have been around a long time and lots of streetwear wouldn't be around if it wasnt for them
This world , what is wrong with it?
A whole lot of followers and not enough trend setters...
Everyone wants to be part of the "in" thing.... No one wants to add in , they just want to do the in thing.. Like hip hop.....I respect someone who is doing their own thing rather then doing whats been done. Shout out to Q-tip and his new album.
Next big thing in fashion?
Next big thing in fashion , my opinion will prolly be .... baggies..
(eric) Baggies??? (eric) Baggy pants , because guys will get tired of wearing pants that hug their nuts. Men and women.
How long have you been growing out your locks?
A month after my daughter was born , 9 yrs this past april. They wont ever be cut , clipped yes , but not cut.
Peace and blessing to Bob Marley , Peter Tosh , Gregory Issac and all the reggae greats..
Women? We cant live with them , cant live without them. Why?
Because that sweet nectar...
: laughs :
It does something to you , and they give you a bunch of grief. It goes back to the day of adam and eve. No man can handle it. No man can control it. It's a powerful thing.
What do you completely , utterly hate about people?
Um. About people... It's about what we were talking about the other day.. People... It's like you dont know a persons alternate motives...
Their agenda.. What happened to being someone's friend and not looking for anything..
So do you want to give them a brief tid bit of information about the project im going to be in on next year?
Uhh. I keeping saying timeless... Emphasizng..
Its going to be something classy and just timeless.
The best stuff is stuff that can be worn now , throw it on five years from now and still be dope... Regardless it costing two dollars...
Stay tuned. It's going to be timeless.
Allright , anything else you want to say or shout outs?
Just you know.... All my homies in the DMV area. Arcieri , Muff , Johnny Stacks , people in the area keep doing what you do. Keep it positive. Everybody wants to get up , alot of cats are just generally cool with each other , well at least with me... They aint trying to get ahead by stabbing the next person. There is enough money in the area if you work hard.
I'm about to get mine with this project. To all the hypebeats , continue watching the show , I got love for yall.
Good shit , good shit. I appreciate the interview. It was mad fun.

The Essence Of It All.

So people have been asking me a lot of questions about this blog , what it means to me and what not. Specifically regarding the fact that all the interviews are done in the midst of having a meal with the interviewee. Well let me take a moment to explain why its done in this process. : Clears Throat : Throughout my life and all its happenings , I've seen that the most effective way to get down to business / brass-tax is when in the process of in-taking food. Taste is by far one of the most profound senses because in all actuality it takes a lot of our body's effort to tend to this must do function. During this time where we refuel and recharge , its healthy and usually personally satisfying to throw some conversation into the mix. And depending on the person/people its almost a form of therapy. Whether I'm taking in deep conversation with my friends and family , exchanging more-so gestures with pieces of words with a lovely lady at dinner , or playfully talking shit with homeboys it all means something. Much is taken from these incidents which further makes up my life , so I felt it necessary to do the same with these interviews I still call Fatty Profiles.

I see Ralfy.

Location: Pete's Cafe on Fordham Rd. in the Bronx , NY.
People: Ralfy , Amanda Marie , Will , Carlos and Myself.
Renaissance Man : a present-day man who has acquired profound knowledge or proficiency in more than one field. In the world nowadays it definetley pays to be one of this caliber. Take a look into the man we label Revolvers Fresh.

Name and or nickname.
Obviously put Revolvers Fresh , but put A.K.A. Cabar and C to the R.
What area or borough do you reside in?
Bronx. All day , everyday.
What does the bronx mean to you?
Home. My childhood , my livelyhood. (eric) Anything else? (eric) Nah , those are the first things that come to mind. So it's nice to finally sit down and do this. Its certainly been a long time coming , dont you think?
Of course , of course. You were the first one to come up to me discussing this project. I've always been down to collaborate. I see big , big things with this.
Why do you think my project is going to blow?
Well it's for the same reason why everyone is interested in viewing it. You're showcasing up and coming people in a sense and it just gives everyone the opportunity to show people that you're a traveler. It's a good media for everyone to see whats going on , on a more humble level whether it be music or anything else.
So: I know to a certain extent the reason behind it. Explain the name more in depth.
The whole revolvers fresh thing? (eric) Yes sir. (eric) For those who dont know , the whole revolvers fresh thing is a breakdown of two ideas. Revolvers : the dictionary definiton is a thing or person that revovles , the chamber of a gun or a person. The whole process is revolving , changing. And fresh is the retainment of all original properties un-impaired. And basically that means , who you are despite your surroundings or other influences. You being fresh and orginal to yourself. Revolvers fresh is staying true to yourself and surroundings and constantly evolving. (eric) Ahh ok , I get it. (eric)

What do you consider yourself to be?
I consider myself to be ... an entertainer ... whether it being if someone gets a rise out of a few verses that i drop or a graphic that i make. It's about making people laugh. If they send me a comment about something i made It makes me smile knowing that I made them smile with my personal creativity. The thing with the minor blogging , I just like to speak the truth and bring it out. You get that "its so true" with some things I speak about , I like be the revealer of social truths.
Main thing you want to achieve as of now?
I want to find myself in a position where I can transcend my graphic design and find a more profitable place for it.(eric) Meaning...start your own business? (eric) Ummm , not necessairly start my own business but go into businesss for myself. I might end up taking an apprenticeship underneath my tattoo artist. So that may be a big possibly of what I might start doing.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
2 Kids. An adorable pet pug. (eric) Laughs (eric) Laid up on the couch playing something on the next playstation , 3 or 4 . And being able to work from home comfortably. (eric) Sounds good to me. (eric) Right.

What do you think of the fashion industry as of now?
Fashion industry , or fashion styles... (eric) Ummmm...both. (eric) Well ummm , I dont really follow the industry. But fashion styles here in ny , is more of a joke. You have people that just try to emmulate what they see on tv. You know , and this is what pised me off. Ima give you an example. I've been looking for a particular pair of sneakers for a while. Kanye West was photographed with the sneakers on and the value of this sneaker shot up just from being on Kanye Wests feet. It was a huge turn off. I no longer desired it anymore. It's not the sneaker i wanted , just the sneaker that kanye west had.
What do you think of the music industry as of now?
I dont follow it at all. I dont watch tv , or listen to the radio. Its not about whats in , its about what its bringing. It's about what you're bringing. I think that it's a fucking circus right now.
Current vice in your life?
Uhhhh. Just trying to push forward. Determination , really. The hope that tomorrow will bring something better. And luck. (eric) Thats good , because most dont have that vice... (eric)
Being the fact we both love and have tattoo's. Don't you find it mad funny when one gets tattoos only as a status symbol? Because its "cool"?
My new number one pet peeve , is this explosion of chest pieces. (eric) Why? (eric) Its one thing to... get a tattoo because its deep in meaning or something personal in your life. But to randomly get something because its "cool" or to impress girls or guys... Its permanment and you have to have a reason to get it. When girls get stuff like stars ... becuase they think its cute. Stop that. (eric) I hate when i see people with stupid shit on they body...(eric) Everything on my body has meaning.

When people think of you , what do you want them to think?
I just want them to see me as a person that is being themself. A person that is doing what they want. I want people to view me as a creative person who is bringing something orginal.
Greatest song of all time and why? Any genre. it doesnt matter.
Deftones "Lifter" (eric) Why is that? (eric) Its just my favorite song to zone out to. My favorite band to listen to when im drawing , illustrating , or whatever im doing graphically. Thats what im listening to.
Im asking all my dudes questions about women to put them on the spot. Women , we cant live with them , cant live without them? Why is this?
Its just like how it sounds. You need that counter-part , basic human survial. Man and woman are needed to continue our race , our species. Thats it in its basic form. We know how much more complicated they can get. (eric) You seen that show wildin' out? Where they have that jury thing? Thats why i ask questions like that , to see if my dudes will say "i plead the fifth". Haha. (eric)
How come dudes cant compliment each other? Give props , recognition? Yea , so how come?
Its insercurity in themselves. Some people feel that they cant give recognition to a person because it gives away from their character. It could be a person that is doing successfully. Two lawyers , one at a more respected firm ..he wont give props to the other because he's not there. I personally have no problem at giving props to someone who diserves it. If your shit is up there , you diserve that recognition. (eric) I agree all the way. (eric) People need to be more supportive of one another.
Regarding your I Disrespect Bitches Stamp : What does I.D.B. mean in your mind?
Allright. I seem to get alot flank for this , especially from alot of women out there. Ladies , ladies , ladies...Do not be mistaken by my cause , and message. I am in no way shape or form trying to be offensive to my lovely ladies out there. Its just you bitches I cant stand. (eric) And by bitches , what do you mean? (eric) A bitch can be a man or a woman. (eric) Meaning? (eric) A person that is spiteful or overbearing or just a person that just goes out of there way to be unpleasant or ruin your day , thats a bitch. A bitch is also a dude that is not straight forward with his agenda , those are what we call "bitch-made tendencies". So you know , to summarize it all..I.D.B. is to those type of individuals , men and women. (eric) That makes perfect sense. (eric)
Heh. Being Mr. Graphic Design and what not , do you look at my myspace page and just think "eghck"?
Not at all. Im a big fan of simple design. To me , clean , straight forward , ledgible design... Sometimes people make that mistake in being too flashy and it takes away from the point of what they are trying to get at. Less is more as they say sometimes.

How long have you been doing graphic design?
All my life. I was always the kid in school drawing pictures for other people. Batman , spiderman ... they came to me. People wanted tocan sam fighting the smacks frog ... they came to me .. Actually , I drew that and then people said they had never thought about it.
On the graphic design pics , ive seen WDYWT imprinted onto them. What does that stand for?
Ummm. Basically it stands for "What Did You Wear Today". (eric) And what does that mean? (eric) Well there is a forum that I used to frequent heavy a few years ago and that was niketalk. And there was a section for you to post what you wore. (eric) Allright... (eric) Kind of like an insight to fashion styles and trends around the world. I just found it to be a bit boring just posting your outfit so I thought of a way to make it fun putting myself into movie scenes. Alot of people started digging it..and it got to the point where I was recognized in the street by it. People would request different movie scenes...(eric) Themselves , or you? (eric) Myself in certain movies scenes saying "you should do this movie , or that movie ... " Big Shouts to niketalk for the shine and exposure for that. I should have a new adventure up soon. (eric) laughs (eric)
What got you into it?
My mother , my mother is my biggest inspiration. She was an artist , a painter. Being the first born I was always around her doing art. I looked up to my mother greatly. It was only natural for me to follow her (art).
What are your next projects?
Umm , a few projects for my own personal gain. Designing a few more pieces for tattooing. (eric) And? (eric) I got the L.O.V.E. project , im not going to get into it. (eric)Thats the one im in? (eric) Yeah. (eric) I look forward to it. (eric)
Well thanks for the time bretheren. Anything else you'd like to get off your chest?
Umm. People need to show more love to one another , whether black , white , spanish or asian. All this black and spanish animosity towards one another. Certain hoods , that bullshit needs to stop. We bleed the same blood , its not about the outside. (eric) And thats the truth. (eric)
Anything else?
If you aint from brooklyn , stay out. You already know about that eric. HAHAH. (eric) Yes I do. Haha. (eric)
Well thank you again. Im sure we shall connect with these future projects and make it all work.
: DAPS :
Thats it?
Real quick shout. Shouts to Knape , spotlight , the whole OIS Time and Tide crew , and my brothers. and last but not least , my boobie thats playing solitare right next to me. (eric) Heh. (eric)
Peaaaaaaaaaace.

Here we meet Ah-Kim.

Location: Outside the Five Guys in the Rockville Town Center.
People: Ah-Kim , Eric (The African) and Myself.
So the breakdown to this piece is this : Ah-kim is a dude that i've known for a tad bit of time who has something to say. Everyone wants to rap this day and age , yet Ah-Kim proves that only a set group of those people can make quality songs.

So , you actually go by your government name when rapping un-like most. Why?
Motherfucka thats me , I already think my name is unique already. I think my government name is the perfect name already , it sounds like a real hip-hop MC instead of Shawty Lo anything like that. I toyed around with names when I was young , I just think its unique within itself. To be real with you , it keeps me focused on what im doing now. I rhyme my reality. When you use a stage name its like you're making up shit.
But your not saying , MC's who use names other then their government are corny are you?
Oh no , not corny at all. (eric) It's just your own personal preference? (eric) I dont think it's corny , just when you use a stage name .... sometimes you fade away and stick with that story. Say that came from a nicnkname which was given to you , it's a tad bit different.
So what inspires you to do this thing called "rap"?
Poetry. Bottom line , poetry. I started writing poetry first. My first thoughts about writing poetry wasn't to convey feelings but to tell a story. (eric) So poetry bottom line? (eric) I started writing rhymes soon after. I realized after writing poetry that I could expand on to rhyme.
How long have you been rapping?
For 3 years.
Who have been some of your musical influences?
Im going to keep it to the point. Whats the word? (eric) Consise? (eric) Yes , three. As far as my style. Jay-z because of his swagger. Eminem for his wordplay. Nobody puts words together like him , he can make words and phrases rhyme that you would'nt think could. And Talib Kweli for his conciousness , and him being socially aware.
(eric) Thats it? No specific genre? Some rappers get outside influence besides rap and hip-hop(eric) 'Jazz standards' Because they tell average joe stories with a lot of heartfelt emotion. They engage you by vocal delivery.

How did you start?
When I started writing poetry. Dont get me wrong , poetry taught me to think outside the box. Hearing fresh ass beats and being able to put words together just did it.
Motivation. What draws it? Thoughts or ideas.
(eric) What captures it? (eric) Just common everyday life.
Favorite song of all time , Any genre , and why?
Rap song? (eric) Any song (eric) Damn son , I wanna go with hip-hop. I'd say "Passing Me By" , by The Pharcyde. (eric)Why?(eric) Number #1. They didnt use a lot of metaphors. They used simple vocabto tell a story. They did'nt try to get all metaphoric and shit. They told a simple story , that was real from all four corners. And I related to it. My favorite verse was the last verse. (eric) Do you remember any of it?(eric) Yea. And there she goes again..... :starts rapping: ... the dopest ethopian...
What in your head / mind describes the rap game as of now?
How can I say it. A waste of time. (eric) Hah. (eric) Wack beats. Songs that lack substance. No MC's and a bunch of motherfuckas just getting rich. Just a complete waste of time , it almost seems like a waste of time trying to be a rapper.
With that said , why do you continue?
Why do I continue? Because I have this false belief , that real hip-hop will be important again. (eric) You dont think it will ever be? You hoping to make it? (eric) Yea , but its unrealistic.
(eric) Yet , you continue to try? (eric) (nods) Shit is fun.
What do you think are a couple songs that should have gotten more radio play?
Two. "Be Somebody" by Producer Dre fr. Cool and Dre and "Dont forget em" by Consequence.(eric) I love that joint , most people dont remember or have'nt heard it. What do you like about each song? (eric)The lyrical content in "Be Somebody" and just the emotional feel in "Dont forget em". The hook , not just the hook...the way they sang the hook.(eric) You seen that video? (eric) Yeah. (eric) Consequence is underrated. (eric) He got four mics on his album....(eric)Mic ratings nowadays....(eric) ..dont mean shit.
Do you hate that so much trash is on the airwaves as we speak?
Yeah. Thats a self explanatory answer.

If you could change something about the genre , (Hip-Hop / Rap) what would it be?
Thats a good fucking question..If I could change something about the genre. Nothing actually at all. Everybody has a right to make the song that they want and present it how they want. But I think that fans and the listeners should have higher standards of what they want to hear.
On your Black Hands mixtape I absolutely love Track #2 (My Name is Ah-kim), "listen to the track dude , you wishin on a black dude , my love is whispering to me , get up on that jackmove". I love this line because it shows that times have been hard in the past for you. Unlike most rappers who try to glorify a life they havent ever lived. Its honest. Its refreshing. What were you trying to say with those lines?
It's like , put it this way...Rap is like.. Rap got they hopes on this concious black male rapper. I'm like the great white hope of rap. I'm saying that "my love is whispering to me , get up on that jackmove". Its just like everyday stress. Every verse I like to make a reference to the common , average , everyday joe. I just think that if you are born rich , a person like that can't touch the masses ... you can't touch the masses ... you can't relate.
On Vibe w/ me from Demo-lition you said "Yo I refuse to be like anybody else , and i refuse to lose to boughie people sitting on the shelf , rockin a coogi and a kufi , you don't need to buy my album , man cop the bootleg on the streets i'm still going platinum". Explain.
Well , i refuse to be like anyone else. I dont bite. Boughie people are like record executives. It's like you get signed to a record label and they sit you on the shelf. They sell you dreams , they sign you , and sit you on the self. Coogi and the kufi , I always make references to black conciousness.I think without my black conciousness ... my black conscious is the core of me. It's real rap , real hip hop. You dont need to buy the album , you can cop the bootleg on the streets....basically I could sell them out my trunk.
Whats the number one thing you love about Hip-Hop. We aint speaking Rap , Im talking about good ol' fashioned Hip-hip.
The realate-ability. I dont care. If you drop a classic hip-hop song , everyone will bump their head. Some bar , some verse , realated to everybody.
By the way what do you consider to be the difference between "Hip-Hop" and "Rap"?
Rap is just rhyming words over a beat and putting a hook to it. You know what im saying? Rap is just making a song. Hip-hop is making music. It's completely different. Rap you know , you need three verses , lines to rhyme. Hip hop , there is a presentation. Motherfuckers are making music...I need this beat to match this mood. Hip hop , it comes in parts. You have the beat that sets the tone. You got to establish the message you're trying to send , then the motherfucking hook ...Fuck the hook. The beat sets the tone , you decide the message and then you gotta deliver the message saying whatever I want them to know. You have to choose the delivery that will convey the message. No emphasis , no cadences...
Track #12 on demo-lition . This song is dedicated to Kurtis Blow : Shit. Thats something , a whole song dedicated to one of this music's forefathers. What did Kurtis Blow embody to you?Be honest , Did you ever want a jehri curl? Hah.
Nah , I used to want a shag like new edition though. (eric) So , the song....what's it all about? (eric)
Number one , it was just the first rap tape that I ever had and the first time I ever listend to rap. And what I remember was Kurtis Blow had fun , bottom line. He wasnt afraid to make songs with substance. It wasnt hard work , was'nt something he got angry about...

God all these references , you're going to hate me. Heh. Track #13 on Demo-lition you say "all because im outspoken , im flat broke again". Explain.
I don't kiss ass. And I ain't afraid to tell a person the truth. And when you do that , it puts a target on your back. The person then sees the power that you have. They look at you as a threat. A great leader is going to tell you the truth whether you want to hear it or not. Basically , that line right there was telling motherfuckas that "im flat broke again , im fired" .. i've lost jobs because of it.
Allright , due to all my greivances w/ woman im forced to ask every male I interview a question about women. Hah. Do you think pussy is power? Dont front.
Nah , actually i don't. (eric) Hold up , I got to intervene....how so? (eric) Oh because , if you hit the shit right of to no bullshit.... First of all , sex is overrated. And as quick as a man can get pussy whipped , a woman can get dick whippped. (eric.)So are we talking about pornstar dick , or casanova dick? (eric.) I'm talking average joe dick. Off the bullshit , all you got to know is how to fuck.
I must say. I absolutely love your music. No gimmick , no soulja boying. None of that nonsense. It must make you smile?
No doubt. (eric) No doubt , thats it? (eric) No doubt. : nods :
Whats your next body of work?
I'm going to do one of two things. I'm going to either do another mixtape type joint and just spit. Like Jay-Z said , keep the jumpshot fresh and see if I have a new crossover.Or i'm going to do another album w/ orginal songs and focus more on my hooks. Focus on the musicology...(eric) Musicology is a word? (eric) Prince used it. (eric) So if Prince uses a made up word , it's all good? (eric) Yes , because Prince is a musical genius , bottom line. You cant go wrong.
Any things you want to get off your chest?
Nah , I do that shit with the motherfucking music.

How about some closing thoughts and ideas?
No.(eric) No? (eric) None. (eric) ...what a dick. Heh. (eric)
Thank you the chat. I look forward to your next project. Anything else to say?
Nah thats some sweet shit.

A Man Named Keness.

Location : El Tamarindo Resturant on Florida Ave in the Adams Morgan section of DC
People : Mr. Keness , Mr. Piff and Myself.
So basically just the background of this blog is that of this : We all decided to head into the city to get some grub and finally get down to business. The conversation / interview had a lot of detail but this is what made it into the post. He is wordsmith in a sense and a dude that's been going strong and surely will continue into the following year.

Full name? Or Nickname , which do you prefer to go by?
Arcieri Keness. That's good.
How long have you been rapping?
Rapping since 96' , yo.
How long have you been making music?
Damn , Ive been recording songs since about 97' making beats to myself , and then recording back over that , while then rapping back over them.
What is your opinion of the rap world in this point in time?
Right now , I think hip-hop is like a chair on three legs. Basically unstable. Me and Wade had a conversation about Cuban Linx and we've realized that everyone is biting. (wade.) Nothing is original any more. (wade) Pharrel did the iced out G-shock for more corporate America , put diamonds around his digital watch. Young Joc claimed "Ive got an iced out G-shock" and now Bow Wow is claiming to be the originator of it all. "Point is , biters suck" (me) True , You gotta give respect when respect is due. (me)
The food was actually quite good as you can see in these pictures here:

Listening to music nowadays , do you just sometimes want to say "FUCK IT" , or continue in hopes that music will somewhat improve?
Nah yo , you cant ever say F it. It's like , I don't know. F IT YO. I'm out this rap game , I'm done. Ima put down my pad and my pen , gimme some nachos and a taco. I'm becoming the rap version of Ron Jeremy. Nah , I honestly love it too much to ever say F it. I can wake up and go to sleep doing it , it just comes naturally. I couldn't ever say F it , its just something I'm good at.
+ Wade ( Brad Piff ) got me riding a bike again +
So , we've been friends for a little bit of time and Ima always support you. Have you seen anyone jump onto the Arcieri Keness bandwagon because your music is getting out to the mass public a little bit more?
(me) Not asking for names. Heh. Don't drop any names , oh god ..... here he goes. (me) Damn where do I start , Ricky Martin , Denzel Washington. Nah , ain't nobody stealing my style. (wade) Nah, he's low-key. (wade) Nah , I'm boring. No this interview is over..... (pushes all the plates and drinks off the table ) : smiles : I don't allow people onto my bandwagon , its a one seater.
Fashion-wise , whats your favorite thing going on at the present moment?
The only thing I like right now in fashion is denim and porn. I like porn because I'm so disappointed in fashion. They are not clothed... (me) point noted (me) Everyone in fashion is boring. Kanye West , take him .... he's like the pokemon master of hype beasts. They're gonna hate me when I get big , I'm not going to be like every other entertainer. I'm just going to answer questions honestly and exactly how I feel. (wade) So you're not going to be like the Paul Money of whatever your doing? (wade) Yea , I'm going to be the Paul Money of hip-hop. Life is so short , why censor it? If you call yourself a man then you have a pair of balls , no man should ever take your freedom of speech away from you.You gotta be constructive with it (wade) You gotta be real with it too .. (wade) If you lie to your audience , you lie to yourself.
What describes your style?
(wade ) Yaaawn in big letters. (wade) (me) laughs (me)Honest , no filler. I'm not rapping the same stories that you've heard. I'm not saying I've killed anybody , I don't even own a handgun.
Whats the most meaningful song you've made thus far?
Hmmm. I don't even know yet. I would have to say "Cindy". That song was actually made to a friend of mine , that song was honest and about a female friend of mine from the Baltimore area that had to sell drugs to get out of a situation. Cindy should be about 27 , ( raps a few bars ) ...
Being from Baltimore things are going to be a little bit different then say , NY or DC ... Whats one thing in Baltimore that you hate to the full potential?
Baltimore...I don't hate the fact that it is , but Baltimore is a club music city. It seems like its really hard for rappers to be taken seriously.(wade) especially with 92 Q (wade) I think that there are good rappers in Baltimore , but they get overlooked due to club music.
On a dessert island , One song you have to listen to over and over , what and why?
This song by the Comsat Angels , "Falling" . Its from Real Genius with Val Kilmer , Its an 80's movie. Good movie , the Comsat angels did a cover song for the movie and it plays throughout the whole movie. I can play that song , over and over , and over.... (wade) I got one better then that , Depeche Mode "People are people" .. you can just listen to the words... (wade): food arrives...stuffs food into face: The message is deep , and Real Genius is one of my favorite movies..and it just fits.
What describes the thought process you tend to have when making songs?
I just smoke a little dope...nah. For real , every time I do a song. I like to put on headphones when I rap and just close my eyes and imagine ... being an only child is a great gift. Someone can play a movie and you just turn it into verbal , turn it into text so you can just project it to the world so they can get a mental picture.
What "inspires" you?
Honestly , the stuff that inspires me to write is movies and stuff. I was watching purple rain the other day , every day I watch purple rain . It makes me want to write. It's about what people do in real life. It's about making it. Prince was so far ahead of his time , it was crazy. Purple rain , Vanilla Sky.
Now , you're pretty lyrical in the sense of wordplay. Whats the idea you'd like to capture with people listening to your music?
Keep em interested. People like pop up books , people like images , so you just have to constantly keep it interesting. (wade) Beats keep people interested.. (wade) It's funny , that's why I didn't want to have that many hooks in my project , I just wanted people to hear me out and say my piece. I didn't want people to get bored with my hooks.
Hate to do this , But Top 5 (Dead or Alive)( Not in order )
1.Common
2.Andre 3000
3.Jean Grae Damn......... : thinks :
4.Nas
5.Lupe Fiasco
I think all of them , their lyrical content is just insane. They all just keep getting better. (me) You heard the album she did with 9th wonder? (me) Shes just ridiculous.
When you're writing , whats the place that gives you the most inspiration?
My mind. Just my mind , in my mind I can be anywhere I want to be.
Terrorist Do Coke <--- Could be self explanatory but please explain more on the title.
Wade prolly wants to know that to. So many meanings behind it ... I feel that terrorists have to do coke to do some of the crazy stuff that they do. What makes them want to get up in the morning , scratch their balls , and say I want to blow this up? It seems that coke could have used them as an advertisement. It became so commercialized. I'm not even talking on that type of view. Because we have terrorists like corporate people , a lot of them do coke , a lot of them do drugs. Sort of American terrorists. So many reasons behind the name , I cant just give you one.
Listening to "For Diamonds" I've noticed that you're right. Everyone seems to be fascinated by these objects , and would take them over intellect. Why?
Because that's how America is , they replace the barter system. It doesnt work like that. I guess western folk' eyes got bigger with diamonds. What the diamond does is it makes people kind of aware of status. A status of accomplishment. "You know what , I'm accomplished , instead of a sign around my neck" Just like a Mercedes. I know people who own a Mercedes and are living in the projects.
What do you want from life?
Everything as long as its good. That's what I want from life , everything as long as its good.
Women? Cant live with them , cant live without them. Why?
Wow. Wade might have to answer that one for me (wade) No I don't. (wade ) Women just are..... I don't know man. I don't think a perfect woman does exist , and I don't think the perfect man can exist. I say that because I don't want anyone to think I'm woman bashing , as long as we are human .. you're not going to get along with everyone.
So I see that you indeed do wear your glasses in the dark like Corey Hart , you think you're cool?
Hah. I just got a brand new pair of supers. That's all I got to say. I got them from Palace 5 from DC. $125.
Alright , when can you expect your next project to come out?
Nevuary 31st. Nah , my mix tape FRANK should be released sometime in 09' . Early. It will still be cold outside.
Any closing thoughts of ideas?
Thank you for coming out. God bless , good night. No , I cant say that ..... Russel Simmons will sue me. No my closing thoughts in all honesty is that everyone needs a couple days to themselves. Whether it be a special movie , or vibing to an album and getting those chills. Its finding out who are you and where you want to me and just reflect , because life is short. And I'm saying this at 26. And thanks for the free food. Its been fun , a great interview.... I'm sleepy and I'm going back to Baltimore.

Well thank you good sir. Peace be w/ you.

Profile-
(noun)
-an informal biography or a concisely presented sketch of the life and character of a person.
-a set of characteristics or qualities that identify a type or category of person or thing:

Welcome to my blog.
This is going to be something most people aren't going to be used to. Because I've never seen anyone make a blog strictly in essence to shooting out their friends and what not. I believe in that phrase , "Worst comes to worst my peoples come first". In the most concise explanation , this blog is this ... I know a lot of people that are just great : Down to earth, intelligent and talented to the T. Some don't get the shine they deserve , some do . The reason I'm doing this is just to give them a little bit more of an opportunity to become known with the long list of people I know. I absolutely love meeting people that actually have something to say. Life is way too short to just run around yapping the massive amounts of bullshit that people seem to do. The people that I'm going to be profiling in this blog are people who are consistent in the way they act , they don't flare up and flake out. They deserve some cot' damn recognition and im going to make sure they get it.
